About Us

We are Amanda Provencher and Paul Schultz and we would not rather be doing anything except what we are doing- farming this organic, diversified, family farm in Penobscot. We feel very fortunate to call this home and be able to raise our kids here. We value good food, a healthy environment, positive relationships, and being good community members. This is reflected in our products and how we operate our farm.

Our homemade compost fertilizes our fields and is the basis for our farm-made potting soil. We make our own hay and straw for animal food and bedding and for mulching in the garden. The diversity of our farm allows us to be a relatively closed system, minimizing off-farm inputs. We believe in the value of healthy soil that promotes vigor and nutrition in the plants and animals that we grow and raise here.

We love our community and its members. We take pride in being an educational resource for the community, whether through farm tours, school gardens, mentorships, or consulting with home gardeners.

When we find ourselves with a bit of free time from doing the above we hit the slopes or the water. Or we stay put and curl up on the couch with a good book or sing and dance our tails off all over the house.
